These rest stops offer a chance to see these farms and also to sample some fresh produce grown right there in the Hudson Valley.
I shifted into the next easiest gear and glanced down seeing my heart rate was already up around 175bpm. I didn’t look behind me, but I could almost feel the woman who started after me breathing down my neck as we made slow progress toward the top.
Remembering to respect the rules of the road, your fellow riders and the ride leader will be the first steps to becoming a competent and well-liked group rider.
When racing and training for endurance sports such as running, cycling, triathlon, etc., you need to put in the time to train your body physically to achieve your goals. However, sometimes we forget that there is also a huge mental aspect to these sports.

Making sure you eat, drink and replenish your body with the right fuel shortly after a ride will help you recover properly and keep you feeling strong day after day in your training.
My legs felt like they were getting heavier and heavier and the end of the climb was certainly nowhere in sight. All I could see was more road in front of me winding up toward the heavens.
There are several primary muscle groups used in cycling. Riding will obviously help to strengthen these muscles but, some off the bike plyometric training is great for giving these muscles additional strength and endurance.
