A great fit can make the difference between the bike feeling like an extension of your body versus a cumbersome and uncomfortable machine that feels like a burden to ride.
When racing and training for endurance sports such as running, cycling, triathlon, etc., you need to put in the time to train your body physically to achieve your goals. However, sometimes we forget that there is also a huge mental aspect to these sports.
Here are some of my general observations regarding some of the most popular brands of energy gels; the good, bad, sweet, soupy, sticky and sometimes tasty gels.
The Hell of Hunterdon is an eighty-two mile ride with nineteen dirt sectors and close to six thousand feet of climbing. So if the dirt isn’t challenging enough, the hills will add the extra difficulty riders may be seeking.

My legs felt like they were getting heavier and heavier and the end of the climb was certainly nowhere in sight. All I could see was more road in front of me winding up toward the heavens.
There are several primary muscle groups used in cycling. Riding will obviously help to strengthen these muscles but, some off the bike plyometric training is great for giving these muscles additional strength and endurance.
Have some kind of training plan for your indoor training. If you are just pedaling along on the trainer with the same intensity every time you ride you are doing yourself a disservice.
